25 years of service to the community

On October 19th,1994, the Christopher Centre was launched as a local resource centre in Sudbury and over the years it has become a focal point for local charities to hire office space and rooms for their events, meetings and activities. As well as preserving a fine Grade 2 listed building, the staff and trustees have developed a wide range of community activities from events and meetings to developing activities for local people including a singing group, a crafts group, a vegan supper group and a drop – in coffee morning for vulnerable and lonely people. In addition, the Community Depot is based there, providing local people and families in need with furniture and household goods. It is therefore more than just a building – it is a centre for all the local population.
