“A melancholy accident occurred on Monday morning last to Samuel Bitten and his son, who were in the employment of Mr. James Green, a bricklayer of Sudbury: whilst repairing the tiling of a house in Friars Street, in that town, the spar to which they had fastened the ladder, broke and precipitated them into a stone yard. The father fractured his head in such a dreadful manner that he died in about two hours; but hopes are entertained of the recovery of the son, although very much injured.”
